EARLY MORNING PANCAKES

img_7005 img_7026 img_7038 img_7027 img_7039 img_7022

The mornings at our home is always the most stressful part of my day. I mean- wake up, brush teeth, comb hair, make bed, eat breakfast, put on shoes, grab backpacks and finally out the door! phew, I feel like I’ve run a marathon by 9 a.m. and the day has barley started! Normally I’ll go with the fastest option for breakfast while I quickly prepare lunches and in between try to get a few sips out of my coffee cup.  However, every once in a while I try to de-stress our mornings and decide to wake up extra early and prepare a yummy breakfast. It usually doesn’t last more than just a few days but it definitely feels good and we all enjoy it while it lasts. Of course you want to start of the day with a good, healthy meal. However, anyone with kids knows that some mornings are just too special to worry about a properly balanced meal. Spending time in the kitchen as a family, whipping up something absolutely delicious and sweet, is the stuff that memories are made of. Sometimes it’ll be cinnamon rolls or french toast but pancakes are the kids absolute favorite and they love it with berries and maple syrup on the side. Here is an easy pancake recipe introduced to me by my sister in low, who has some amazing recipes on here blog here.

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

Pinch of salt

2 tbsp white sugar

3/4 cup + 2 tbsp milk

1 large egg, beaten

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Oil or butter for cooking

Preparation:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat. In a bowl, mix together dry ingredients then add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and mix well.
  2. Place a teaspoon or 2 of butter or oil on skillet. When butter foam subsides or oil shimmers, ladle batter onto the skillet, making pancakes of any size you like. Adjust heat as necessary; usually, first batch will require higher heat than subsequent batches. Flip pancakes after bubbles rise to surface and bottoms brown.
  3. Cook until second side is lightly browned. Serve, or hold on an ovenproof plate in a 200-degree oven for up to 15 minutes.

Hope you’ll enjoy these pancakes as much as we do! xx

STATEMENT SLEEVE

Hey guys, today I’m talking about this not so new but interesting and bold trend – The Statement Sleeves. It only takes one quick scroll through Instagram or Pinterest to see that statement sleeves are still going strong, looks like this fashion trend is definitely here to stay! There are so many versions to this trend from wide bell sleeves to side ruffles, cut-outs to extra long and dramatic sleeves. This trend will not disappoint whether you are after that classy, feminine look or just want to look cool and sophisticated; this trend holds something for everybody. It is pretty wearable too, anyone can totally rock this trend, just be creative and make it fun! The shorter length and mini proportions of this sweater I’m wearing makes it by far my favorite to wear. The sleeves are an accessory in themselves, and since I like to keep my outfits simple and monochrome, the sleeves added just the right amount of drama for me. But feel free to take it further if you’re the type that likes to spunk things up.

All the love! xx,

We had the best Hannukah this year, our first in NY and it didn’t disappoint! Holidays with kids is so different and so much more exiting! It is heartwarming to watch them so fascinated by every little detail of the holiday traditions.  As sad as we are are about the end of the holiday season, we can’t wait for a long winter full of snow, ice skating (maybe even ski?) and winter activities.

Thanks for stopping by! xx

COZY HANUKKAH AT HOME

Doesn’t Hanukkah give you the best feeling in the world?! I love decorating the house and hanging up some fairy lights to create a nice holiday atmosphere. It feels good to spend some extra time relaxing with the family, eating sfingiim (Moroccan doughnuts- I literally made them almost every night so far!) and too much fried food.  There’s nothing I like more than a cozy night at home- as much as I enjoy getting out I feel like there’s something heartwarming and calming about cozing up at home.

As you guys know I’m not the most fanciest type of girl on earth, I usually will go for more dressed down looks with little festive details rather than a sparkly dress and high heels combo, but this week is Hanukkah week and I thought what better time to put on some sparkle than now?! Hope you guys are having a great holiday!! Lots of love! xx

IMPERFECT

Kids. You can never get them all to look at the camera at the same time and they are always busy and jumping all over the place but they make me so happy by just being kids and being themselves. There is no reason to stress about perfection, I actually like this imperfection and how their little personalities shine through the images, I think it is way cuter than that perfect family photo.

On another note, I got my tulle skirt on just because it is Hanukkah next week and I am so excited about this cozy holiday!! xx,

SHADES OF BLUSH

Skirt: Zara  Sweater: Primark  Scarf: Rag & Bone  Boots: Steve Madden   Bag: Celine

Hey hey and happy Wednesday! Hope you are having a great week.  Before we moved to NY I gave 80% of my wardrobe to friends because I had a limited amount of packing space. I only kept the items I loved and some closet staples like my black leather jacket, my parka coat, white shirts and some knits- of course! 🙂 I must say it felt quite good, almost therapeutic, to give away so many clothes I had kept for years. I can’t wait to build up my wardrobe from scratch. Although, I notice, that as I get older, I spend more on quality and less on quantity, so it might take some time.

I’ve had this skirt for a while now, but I haven’t had a chance to wear it. This is one of those pieces you look at and immediately think of spring or summer- exactly what I thought. However, since I am left with a very limited wardrobe I have to get a bit creative when getting dressed. If you haven’t noticed yet, I am obsessed with knits so I tried this skirt with a slightly oversized knit and… Voila! I loved the look. So here is my tip to you, pair your knits with dressier skirts, it is a great way to dress down those fancier pieces but still look put together and you create an interesting, stylish blend at the same time. Yesterday my friend Dikla (also Israeli living in NY, you can check out her awesome blog here) and I, attended a friend’s birthday party on the rooftop of the James hotel in NYC, this “not too casual not too fancy” look felt just right! Apart from this look, the view of the city from the James hotel is absolutely unreal, it was quite cold up there but totally worth the 360 degree city view!

Lots of love! xx,

THE LAST OF FALL

Happy Thursday everyone! Here’s a few photos we snapped right before the leaves turned brown, the colors of fall are so beautiful in NY I sure will miss this time of year! The change of weather isn’t going as smooth as I would like it too, both Eitan & Lishai caught the cold and I’m quickly updating the blog as they take their nap. I hope they get better over the weekend, I feel so bad seeing them sick + I’m tired of wiping little noses all day long 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! xx,

MY WINTER ESSENTIALS

November is already over?! I can’t believe winter is right around the corner! One thing I am happy about is the coziness that comes with the winter months. Below are my top 5 winter-chic essentials that are sure to make your winter warm and memorable.

img_7167img_7180 img_7199

Cozy slippers: Did slippers ever NOT be a staple essential for winter? It’s one thing you’ll reach for every single morning right when you wake up so don’t be afraid to splurge on one you love.

img_7189 img_7196 img_7191

A big blanket scarf: This is another one of those winter accessories you know you’ll get a lot of use of, so why not invest in one you love? And I say the bigger the scarf the better! you can get it in a neutral or classic color to be able to wear it with any of your bundled looks for years to come.

img_7219 img_7230 img_7237

Face masks: I can’t talk enough of the importance of taking care of our skin. During the cold months my skin can get really dry so I love using great products that helps keep my skin smooth and nourished. Right now I’m using Vichy- a company I just discovered and I’m obsessed! Vichy has several amazing different masks to choose from and they are all sooo good!

img_7279 img_7292 img_7293

Cozy colorful socks: I admit I’ve always been kind of a sock hoarder, they are so great for those winter nights all cuddled up on the couch. These super cute umbrella socks are from Happy Socks, they have so many different styles and they are all so cute that it’s hard to choose just one.

img_7253 img_7249 img_7255

Hot tea and a Diary: Wow, this must  be my favorite! Sipping tea while putting all of my thoughts and favorite moments into my diary. I wrote a diary when I was pretty young then stopped writing for years but when I had my first boy I decided it is a great time to start again and boy, I am so glad I did! So many great memories are documented in between these pages, from when every kid’s tooth popped out to crazy thoughts and dreams about life. I think it is important to keep a diary, doesn’t really matter what you write but the fact that you upload a memory or a certain idea on paper it will make you think about it slightly deeper and help you experience life in a more interesting way.

I wish you all a warm and lovely winter and I would love to hear some of your favorite things you can’t live without during winter! xx

CAFÉ PARIS + BABY WRAP

img_9096 img_9075 img_9140 img_9003 img_8982 img_9035 img_8997 img_9011 img_9028 img_9034 img_9060 img_9015 img_9062 img_9053 img_9037 img_9070 img_9101 img_9116 img_9082

Dress: Rivka Zerbib Wrap: Solly Baby

These photos were taken at the end of the summer and I just realized  I never posted them, better late than never. Right now it is mostly cold outside and this weather seems to be effecting everybody’s mood especially mine, the cold is just not for me + the days are so short that it gets dark at like, 5pm. That is not enough sun light for me! but I am working on keeping my spirits high just because you know what they say “if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” totally true! I want my kids to grow up and remember me as a happy positive mom.

On this particular day I went out for a coffee at Café Paris in Jerusalem- a place I highly recommend of!! They have a great menu and the setting and location create a lovely atmosphere, I would definitely go back again! Of course baby Lishai was there too all wrapped up and snuggled in there like a little burrito. Seriously, there’s nothing better in the world than having your baby wrapped up so close to you. It is very important to me to keep my babies with me for their first year manly because I want to nurse them for as long as possible. I know breastfeeding isn’t easy for a lot of women but to me it is something that comes naturally and for that I am so grateful. I nursed my oldest for 18 months and the second I nursed for 1 year (I stopped when I found out I was pregnant). Full nursing is a big commitment to make, but I know mother’s milk is the best for countless reasons and I don’t want to give my babies anything but the best.  On another note, tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I can’t wait to spend some extra time with the family and watch the kids eat to much pie! Happy holiday. xx

BALLOONS IN SOHO

Some of you must have noticed our recent visit to New York is kind of not just a visit, it is a whole move! Yes, we are now living in NY for a new chapter in our life and as much as moving countries with 3 little kids can be really crazy (trust me on this), we can’t be more then excited for a new experience and great adventures that come with living in a new place. My wish list of things to do and places to visit is endless and I hope to slowly cross them off one by one. New York City is such a fascinating and incredible place to be in I feel very lucky to experience it. Last Sunday we went out the whole family to a Bugaboo kids party, there was music, balloons, arts & crafts and even a ridiculously large wall of doughnuts which the kids couldn’t get enough of which made them even more hyper! It’s funny how before I became a mom I said I’ll never give my kids any sugar and here they are eating 7 doughnuts each. Oh, the things we say when we are young clueless. Right after the party we walked around Soho, a neighborhood I love hanging out in and of course Yosef had to take a bunch of balloons and schlep them around all day. It happened to look super cute in our photos so I was like why not, even though the balloons kept flying in my face and I wanted to “accidentally” let them fly away (Ok, I wouldn’t).

As much as I am so so excited about this new chapter for our family I already miss Israel so much! Israel is my home and forever will be, this move is temporary and we will be back in no time! I just hope to insert as many visits as we can so it won’t feels as far. We left so much family and great friends, it was quite a tragedy to say goodbye. Thanks for visiting and following our adventures, I hope I can bring you many more fun images & ideas of where to go and what to do with or without your kiddos around NY. xx
